Here are some of the more common questions people want answered.

If you can’t find what you're looking for, we welcome you to get in touch.

What can I expect from our first meeting?

A friendly conversation that is all about you, what makes you tick and what it means to live life on your terms. Understanding you is fundamental to providing relevant options and meaningful advice.

We’ll ask you questions and you will have questions to ask us.

This way we can work out if we are the right fit for each other and how we can help you.

How much does our first meeting cost?

Our first meeting together is on us! It’s our cost.

If you decide this is for you, before proceeding to the next step we will outline what you can expect, the benefits of our advice and the associated fees.

How much money or assets do I need before I meet with you?

The actual amount of money you have or how many assets you own is not as important as making sure we are right for each other.

We will only work with you if we believe we can help improve your unique situation.

And if not, we’ll let you know.

What is your approach to financial planning?

We are proud to admit that our approach to financial planning is a little different.

Working with us is all about YOU!

1. DISCOVERY

We start with understanding what’s most important to you (not just how much money you have).

2. ANALYSIS

We analyse your situation, crunch the numbers and work out the best way forward (using all the financial tools and strategies at our fingertips).

3. STRATEGY and ADVICE

We provide options and help you understand what it all means and how it will help improve your situation (it only works when you know exactly what is going on).

4. TAKE ACTION

We roll our sleeves up and put your plan into action (this way it’s get done without you having to worry).

5. PROGRESS

We stay close, make relevant tweaks/adjustments and keep you moving forward no matter what life dishes up.

What type of clients do you typically work with?

Typically, we work with dentists, medical professionals, legal professionals, small to medium business owners, senior managers and family & friends of our existing clients.

Will you be the only financial planner working with me?

What are your fees for providing financial advice?

This really depends on the complexity of your situation and how much support you need us to provide.

We’ll let you know exactly what it will cost and will put it in writing before you make any decisions.

Where possible, we will also refund / rebate any commissions paid to us from personal insurance products, debt products and investment products.

This can equate to thousands of dollars in savings for you.

How can l pay for your advice?

Depending on the advice provided, and your situation, your fee may be deducted from a financial product (if applicable) or we will invoice you directly.

Together, we will agree on the most effective way to make this happen.

What is your investment approach?

We are a big believer that share market is efficient.

As such, we feel that trying to outperform the market by specific stock selection or ‘timing’ it is not effective when it comes to cost, consistency in performance and managing risk.

Overall, we believe that broad diversification is a more effective way to get meaningful results without taking unnecessary risk and therefore tend towards advising on relevant asset classes and index managed funds.

Why do I need a regular review?

As you know, nothing in life is set in stone.

There are a myriad of things that can happen in your world, expected and unexpected, things you can control and things you can’t, all which may have a bearing on your plan.

Having at least one annual financial health check is fundamental to you keeping on track and living life the way you want.

When do I need to get advice?

Most people choose to see a financial adviser at significant turning points in their life.

Here are just some of the events that can trigger a need for advice:

  • Starting work or changing jobs
  • Considering options for retirement savings (superannuation)
  • Getting married, or separating from a partner
  • Starting a family
  • Saving for education costs
  • Buying a house, or paying off the mortgage
  • Looking to invest for capital growth
  • Planning to retire
  • Wanting to leave a legacy
  • Making sure family is protected if a nasty ‘what if’ happens
  • Inheriting money, receiving redundancy payments or other lump sum payments.

Or maybe you need help to understand some of the complexities of the financial world, financial products, tax laws or changes to legislation, relevant entitlements etc.

What we know is planning is not a one off event.

As life unfolds, getting advice is about continuing to make smart meaningful decisions today so you can enjoy your life without financial worry.
